The mobile app is able to function offline, allowing users to action diary events and continue working in areas with low/no signal. Some functionality does require a connection to the internet to function, eg. home screen widgets or searching, which will pull the information directly from the database rather than stored locally on the device.
Such mobile app usage should be carried out with a strong mobile data or WiFi connection to ensure the request for that data to be displayed.
