Please note -- We recommend you do this out of working hours, once it has been completed, please ensure all your mobile users uninstall and then reinstall the app on their individual devices.
Important things to note:
- Moving forward always ask the engineers to check the appliance area while on a job to ensure all the inputs are correct and any duplicates are deleted before a certificate is created.
- If the mobile apps are not reinstalled after this process is complete your certificates will become corrupted and irretrievable
- Once you merge an appliance all appliance details against a customer will change, i.e if you merge 'Baxxi' into 'Baxi', all customers with 'Baxxi' will now have 'Baxi' against their record.
- Certificates will remain how they were entered into Commusoft
- Once appliances have been merged you cannot un-merge them
- If you see areas where data says 'unknown' this is due to the data not being entered in the previous Commusoft system (v3). If this is the case, you will need to reassign the appliance types to the correct group. Please see the instructions below and follow. If you need more clarification, please email into support.
Types
- First, go to your system settings. In the general section click 'Appliance types'.
- On the right side of the page, you will see a list of appliance types.
- Filter this list via the dropdown at the top and select 'unknown'.
- Use this list and tidy up the data. Use 'Edit' to move the type into a different group, or click 'delete' if you wish to transfer the data into a different type.
- Follow the instructions in the pop-up message.
Makes
- First, go to your system settings. In the general section click, 'Appliance makes'.
- At the bottom of the page click 'Advanced options', then 'Merge appliance makes'.
- You will be directed to a new page with a list of your appliance makes. Find the appliance make you want to remove/merge and click 'Merge'.
- Use the dropdown and type and select the make you want to merge it with and click 'Merge'.
- Follow the instructions in the pop-up message.
Models/Fuel
- In the general section of your system settings, click into 'Appliance models'.
- At the bottom of the page click 'Advanced options', then 'Merge appliance models'.
- You will be directed to a new page with a list of your appliance models. Find the appliance model you want to remove/merge and click 'Merge'.
- You can filter this list by appliance group, fuel type, or make to narrow down the list. You can also merge several models by ticking the box to the left of the model and clicking the purple Merge appliance models button. Please only select the ones you want to remove/merge, do not include the model you want to keep.
- Following this, a pop-up window will appear. You can use this dropdown to merge appliance models together or to mass edit the data. Use the dropdowns to select the data you want to change and click Next. e.g if you select 5 appliances and select the fuel type as 'gas' it will change all these appliances fuel types to gas.
