Gmail have extra settings which need to be changed in order for SMTP to work correctly. Follow the steps below to change these settings.
Please note: When setting up import email settings, you need to delete any SMTP settings that may already be present, then, you can add it again, and setup your import emails. If your SMTP setup was setup before September 9, 2021, you will need to delete it, and add it again before setting up the import.
You must follow all of these steps in order for SMTP to work correctly.
Personal Gmail account
- Turn off 2-Step Verification

Business Gmail account
- Turn off 2-Step Verification

If the option is not visible it is already set to off and no further action is required for this step.
If 2-step verification is on and a requirement, you must contact your Google account administrator. - Allow less secure apps: ON
